A trader will generally buy your product for one price, take it away and put another price on the vehicle in order to make money, I chose to buy my motorhome through a trader even though it was a little bit more money. They are able to make a little more money than the private seller, because they are seen as being reputable, whereas a private sale is not a reliable sale (or so this is thought by many people). You may have noticed big car lots which have loads of cars for sale on the forecourt, well these are known as traders, and they will often offer you a 3 month guarantee on a used car, which is always handy to have.
If you are looking to buy a car, then it may well be worth checking out one of the many online auction sites which are now available online, however, it is worth nothing, that what you see is what you buy on these sites, so you may be signing up for something which is not very good and will offer you a load of problems at the end of the day, so it is good to be aware of this before making that final bid.
There are sites such as auto traders, which offer the best of both worlds, so you can buy from both private sellers and from traders, so it is well worth checking out, plus you are able to put in the car you are interested in on the internet and it will bring up a list of cars and prices, also if you are looking for a car in a certain price bracket, then include this as part of your search also.
